Cool Swim Meeting over the years

The Cool Swim Meeting project, strongly desired by two historically rival associations, the A.S. Merano Nuoto and the S.C. Meran Schwimmen, is now in its 7th edition in 2023!

It was in fact 2016 when a swimming competition, destined to grow over the years, was inaugurated in the beautiful setting of the Lido di Merano.

The presence of many blue swimming talents gave the event additional lustre, as did the entire city of Merano, which was able to seize this great opportunity. The media coverage of the event was exceptional.

In 2018, the Gazzetta dello Sport devoted a full page to the Merano Meeting, which also made its way into the online headlines of the most important newspapers.

The 2019 Meeting was explosive! The numbers are mind-boggling, 44 teams took part, of which six were foreign, there were 506 participating athletes with a total of 2301 starts and 70 relays.

In 2020, the Meeting was cancelled due to the pandemic that affected the entire world.

The 2021 Meeting mirrored #letsraceagain and although it was difficult to confirm the exceptional numbers of the 2019 edition, the numbers increased further with 647 participants for a total of 2764 starts and 80 relays.

A further step of growth in 2022. Despite the concomitance with the World Championships in Budapest, the Meeting managed to bring some of the most outstanding Italian and international athletes to Merano. This edition also saw 16 event records fall, demonstrating the high level achieved.

The 2023 edition therefore promises to be the most incredible ever!
